I first developed this concept years ago. My goal was to translate emotions into images. What inspired this was the concept of a "happy place" that place you go in your head when you just need to get away and maintain some sanity. When I came back to the design years later I realized it also can represent a safe place, a place where you don't feel threatened by others opinions and judgement, it's that tree house in your mind where everything is long summers, ice cream and swimming.
